NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TEXAS
Trammel's Trace connected with the El Camino Real in the old Spanish settlement of Nacogdoches. The early history of the Trace as a horse smuggler's trail was part of the development of the region and the ultimate transfer of control from Spain, to Mexico, to the Republic of Texas, and ultimately to the United States.
